Description:
Proprietor Andrew H. Lynch, M.P., London. Agent William Kelly, Esq., Barna. This townland is held by 7 farmers under a lease of one life or 31 years at a bulk rent of £250 yearly. Soil a light moory nature. There is a great portion of it a waste bog, mountainous and rocky. The road not being convenient to part of this land prevents the tenantry from bringing any manure thereto. Houses of stone, poor cabins. Inhabitants poor. Last Cess 1s. 3d. per £1. Nothing remarkable on it.
Situation:
W. of the Parish. Bounded on the North by the parish of Moycullen, on E. by townland Corbolia Lynch and Booliabeg W., on South by Odd Acres and Aylle, and on W. by the parish of Rahoon in the Barony of Moycullen.

Translation according to P. W. Joyce:
Corboley in Galway and Roscommon; round hill of the booley or dairy place. See Booley [reproduced below].
Booley, Bola, Boola, Bool, the most usual anglicised forms of buaile, a milking or dairy-place, for which see vol. i. p. 239. Latterly the term was often applied to any cattle enclosure near the homestead where cows were brought together morning and evening and fed and milked. Boolies, the same only with the English plural: p. 11 [reproduced below]. Many of our local names - for obvious reasons - are plural, as happens in all other countries (vol. i. p.32). Very often in such cases, the Irish plural termination is rejected in anglicisation and the English plural termination s adopted.
