Let to 3 occupying tenants in a lease of 21 years from 30s. and 35s. per acre yearly rent. County Cess 2/11½ per acre. Tithe withheld by the tenantry, but paid by proprietor. Size of farms from 2 to 4 acres. Soil gravelly and light. Usual crops wheat, barley and potatoes. Fuel none. Prevailing names Burke and Kilkelly. The town of Kinvarra stands in this townland on Galway Bay. 2 schools herein, 98 boys and 10 girls; 6 Protestant, 102 Catholics. Teacher paid by the scholars. Ruins of an old church and graveyard on the East boundary of this townland and 2 forts. Ruins of a Roman Catholic chapel and ruins of a Windmill. Authority Mr. Peter Kilkelly, Kinvarra.
Situation:
In the North East of the parish of Kinvarra, Barony of Kiltartan and County Galway. West of Kinvarra Bay.
