Description:
A small town situate on the Bay of Kinvarra, County of Galway, well supplied with fish, viz. Herring, Cod, Lisig?, Hoak, Mackarel, Whiting, Haddock, Pollock, Turbet, Salmon, Trout, ? ?. It is supplied with turf from Cunnamarra and coal from Galway, is also supplied with sea weed from Cunnamarra and the neighbouring coasts. It is sold from one to two pounds sterling per cart load and drawn from 15 to 20 miles from Kinvara to manure land. 2 fairs held yearly, 18th May and 17th October, a market on Wednesday and Friday each week. The town is fast improving, old houses thrown down and new ones building in almost every parish [unable to read].

In the North East of the parish of Kinvarra, Barony of Kiltartan and County Galway, West of Kinvarra Bay.
