Description:
Proprietor Augustus John O’Neil, Esq., late Lieut. 13th light Dragoons, Bunowen Castle, Ballindoon Parish. Agent John R. Berwick, Esq., Ballinahich held under lease. Rent £10 per year. Soil the greater part coarse pasturable bog, part swampy with a little arable land of a limestone quality attached to the few houses on townland. Co. Cess 20d. paid per acre for 18 acres. Small name:s Lough Rusheen-wa-guinnaun S. tld., Loughvaul-a-tdheeaunn, Thunnee, West of the 2 latter., W. of do., W of latter R. Owen-a-dherra yorrun runs from Lough Cruchoth divides Anungha from Derragorriv and runs into Derrawauking Lough. River Oeeng-a-tdheeaun runs from Lough-na-gung-hee and runs on by Ballinaboy Bridge. Lough-a-vrick-wore in N. Western part of townland. Lough-na-mackan N.E. of the latter. Doolough-veg-a-yarth-ardh E. of the latter, Lough cruo-choth, in East part of this townland in boundary of Moyrus Parish. Lough-an-arroor in Southern part of townland Lough-chnuckaun-an-ulree East of latter. Lough-na-gunghee in South part of townland in mere of Moyrus Parish and Mungha townland. Loughbeg-a-pfulleen-dharree in S.E. part of Mungha townland inmere of Moyrus Parish, Lough-na-can-dharree in N. part of Mungha. Lough-vickel in W.By. of t.ld and E. By. of Ardagh.
Situation:
In the North Eastern extremity of the parish bounded on the North East and South by the Parish of Moyrus and on the West by townland Ardagh. In the Barony of Ballinahinch and County Galway.
