Description:
Proprietor Augustus John O’Neile, Esq., Bunnowen Castle, Clifden. Agent Mr. John Mullin, Ballyconneely, Ballindoon Parish. Agent John R Berwick, Esq., Ballinahinch or Dublin. Soil part rocky and some moory attached to the villages and huts the rocky part wherever it can be tilled among the rock is good, the moory part very poor. Crops middling among the rocks, but poor in the moory part. No lease. Rent £80 per year. Co. Cess 20¼d. paid for each of 30 acres. There is a large tract of bog which has very bad coarse pasture attached to Ardagh townland. Ardagh village, Calura Village, Derra-wauking do. Derrawraun do, Emlagh--ardagh an arable hill. Lough na skaurdha bwee in the eastern boundary townland touches Mungha, Lough Derrawauking, Lough-a-Corra, Bridge of Ard-bear, Illaun-na-creeva, Illaun-na-weelaun, Lough-yerrwvaw-king-more. Lough-derra-uraun-more, Lough-pouleen, Lough-a-leen, Lough-na-Gulka, Lough-thovnee-na-laura-rue, Lough-a-b-ureck, Lough derra-wauking-beg, Lough-na-dhrench-ee, Lougha dhromma, Lough-na-thovnee, Lough-an-eveng, Lough-na-maull-reewaugh.
Situation:
A northern townland bounded on the North by the parish of Moyrus, West by the Atlantic Ocean and townland Ballinaboy, South by Derrygimlagh, Beaghcauneen and Moyrus and on the East by Moyrus Parish and the townland of Mungha. In the Barony of Ballinahinch and County of Galway.
