Proprietors James Morris, Esq., Drinagh. 4 Co. heirs Captain Thomas Satchwell, Esq., Drinagh, Peter Lawles, Esq., Clifden, Anthony Morris, Esq., Galway. Proprietor [ Thomas Martin, Esq., crossed out] M.P. Ballynahinch. Agent Messers. Guinness and Berwick Dublin. Rent £40 per year. No lease. Soil very rocky with a tract of bog. Co. Cess 20¼d. paid half yearly for each of – acres. Produces middling crops of potatoes and oats. 2 villages Drinagh and Thoor-reen, a stream from Lough Emlagh runs between the 2 villages into the sea. Emlagh an arable hill. Bay of Ard Bear N. of townland. Proprietor given wrong by Mr. Campbell.
Situation:
In the North side of the parish bounded on the North by the Atlantic Ocean, West by townlands Kill and Keerhaun North, South by Derryeighter and on the East by Maam. In the Barony of Ballinahinch and Co. Galway.
