Cess 20¼d. paid half yearly for each of – acres. Produces middling crops of oats and potatoes. 4 villages:- Daley Hill, Carroo-an-emla, Bolla-fodtha and Cnuckaun-na-mre-gaun, Emlaghnacoonla an arable hill, Ard Illaun, Lough-a-thaula, Mill Lough, Kygla Bridge, Urriseasky, Illaun-Baurown, Stair Island or Illaun-na-Dhridh-oga. Emlagh an arable hill having ruins of a house thereon. Lough-na-molee-baun-na near Boolagair. Lough-an-illaun, Lough-yun-nagh-rue. Lough-na-gop. R. C. Chapel, Barrick, Manning Bay, North of townland. Brean-Lough crosses road and falls into Manning Bay. Road to Clifden and Aillebrack old road to Trusky old road to Roundstown. Lough Fodtha.
Situation:
A central townland in the West side of the parish bounded on the North by townlands Ardagh, Ballinboy and Mannin Bay, West by Mannin Bay, Manninmore townland and Loughanasert, South by Ballyconneely, Shannanagower and Boolagair townlands and on the East by Slieve Bourke and Beaghcauneen.
