Description:
About l/6 bog, the greater part of the remainder is pasture, most of which is of a very superior description, the remainder is choice tillage. In this parish there are 6 small villages, 1 Danish Fort, 2 graveyards, 1 cave. 2 remarkable walls, 2 schools, 5 quarries and a Roman Catholic Chapel.
Situation:
Forms the eastern extremity of the Barony of Loughrea, and is bounded on the West by the parishes of Kilconickney and Loughrea, in the Barony of Loughrea, on the N. by those of Kiltulla and Grange in the Barony of Athenry, and on the E. by that of Killaan, Barony of Kilconnel and on the South by that of Kilriekil, Barony of Athenry.
