Description:
Proprietor Lord Oranmore of Castlemontgarret. Agent Jerrard Strickland, Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon. All held under lease by Robert Brown, Esq., Portarlington and held under lease from by Richard Walsh & Co. of Kelleenalena. Soil pretty good. Farms from 50 to 100 acres. The farm is bulked for £159 yearly and is about 22s. and 6d. per acre. Produces middling crops of wheat, oats and potatoes. Co. Cess 13 ½ d. paid per acre for 150 acres. Antiquity a fort with a cave called Lisschelleenalena or Killeenalena fort. Theree is Killeenalena Lough.
Situation:
A central townland. Bounded on the North and East by the townland Tubberrogue; on the South by Ballinamona and on the West by Carrowbaune. In the Barony of Ross and County of Galway.
