Description:
Proprietor Lord Oranmore, Castlemontgaret, Co. mayo or London. Agent Jerrard Strickland, Esq., Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon. All held under lease by Robert Brown, Esq., Portarlington and sublet to Tenants at a rent of about 26 shillings per acre. Soil a small part middling having some moor and swamp. Produces middling crops of potatoes, wheat and a little oats and flax. Co. Cess 11 ¼ d. paid per ace half yearly for each of 32d. Farms from 1 to 4 acres having Lough Laur and the Lough of Kelleenalena to the North of Ballinamona Village.
Situation:
A central townland. Bounded on the North by the townlands of Culleenaleana and Carrowbaun; West by Ardaun, East by Ardnageehee; on the South by Ardnageehee and on the East by Croaghrim and Tubbernogue. In the Barony of Ross and County of Galway.
