Description:
Provost land held under lease by John Fair, Esq., Rathmines, Dublin. Agent -. Soil mountain some steep heathy and rocky part arable part mixed and heathy pasture with some arable mountain. No village but a shepherd’s house. Rent £- Per year. Co. Cess 11¼d paid per acre half yearly for 60 acres. This townland takes its name from its appearance and quality. No antiquities.
Situation:
A central townland bounded on the North by the townlands of Cummer and Loughnafooey: on the West by Currareevaugh, on the South by Lecarrow, Toorloggagh and Drin and in the East by Cummer. In the Barony of Ross and County of Galway.
