Description:
A small Post Town, on the road from Galway to Clifden, has a market each Thursday and 4 fairs yearly, contains a Church, R. C. Chapel and a small barracks. Is only celebrated for a spa well and being the resort of sportsmen during the fishing and fowling season.
Situation:
18 miles W. N.W. of the Town of Galway.
