Description:
A village the most considerable in the barony of Leitrim. It extends North and South about ½ a mile, the buildings are tolerably good. It consists of a church, a R. C. Chapel, Petty Sessions House and Police Station. There are 5 fairs held here yearly viz. 10th March, 12th May, 24th June, 2nd October and 26th December.
Situation:
In the townland of Woodford about 10 miles W. S.W. of Portumna and about 8 miles North of Mountshannon.
