Description:
Proprietor Augustus John O’Neil, Esq., late Lieutenant 13th Eight Dragons, Bunowen Castle. Agent John R. Berwick, Esq., Ballynahinch or Dublin and rent £190 per year. No lease. Soil rocky. Produces tolerably good crops of oats and potatoes. Co. Cess 10 ¼d. paid per acre for 20 acres. Atlantic Ocean South S.W of townland, Horse Island, Cow Island, Straw Beach Island or Illaun-murh-eellugh, Corrigwore, Storehouse, Lough Currughdhurraun, Thubber-na-shought-ninneen or 7 daughters. National School, road newline. Currough-a-shruffa, a village with plough land attached there to Baur-a-wolla village, Rus-a-steagh, a village, Rusamugh village, Parkyall, Emlagh-aar-an lake in the Northern extremity of t.land. 2 small islands in the sea called Corrig, South of Glosh-na-cloughmora, a rock called Corrig South of Gloshillaun, Goorha-na-bausthe burying place for children near the village of Cnuckaun-brack, Creg a village by Albrack Beach, Corrig-a-lis or (Corrig-awlish-local) a burying place for children not used since 1803.
Situation:
In the South side of the parish bounded on the North by townland Emlaghurren, West and South by the Atlantic Ocean and on the East by the Atlantic Ocean, townland Bunnownmore. In the Barony of Ballinahinch and Co. of Galway.
