Description:
The parish in its greatest extend from North to South is 9 British miles and from E. to W. 9 British miles nearly. It is divided into 71 townlands. The principal roads running through this parish are from Galway to Oughterard and from thence to Clifden. The nearest market town is Galway.
Situation:
In the Barony of Moycullen or Iarconnaught and County of Galway. Bounded on the N. and W. by the parish of Killannin, on E. by Lough Corrib and on South by the Parish of Rahoon and part of Galway Bay.
