Description:
Killaan Parish contain a.r.p. about three fifths of it cultivated, the rest is bog. There is also a very large Demesne belonging to Woodfield House. The principal proprietors of this parish are Lord Ashtown and Fredrick E. Trench, Esq.
Situation:
Is situated in the eastern side of the County Galway in the baronies of Kilconnel and Loughrea, bounded by the parishes of Grange, Killimerdaly, Ballymacward Kilconnel and Killallaghtan in Kilconnel barony, by Kilreekil in the barony of Athenry and by Bullaun parish in the barony of Loughrea.
