Description:
Mercer Browne, Esq., Proprietor. This townland contains 76 acres, 62½ of which are cultivated, lease 31 years of 3 lives. Rent £13 for the whole townland yearly. 35 acres of the townland pays 1s. 2d. half yearly County Cess. The soil is of a light nature. No mineral. There is a grave yard in this townland called Esker Stiffaun also part of Crigans Lough, 2½ acres uncultivated, 3½ bog, 1 wood, 6½ water.
Situation:
Situated on the N. boundary of the parish, and about 2 miles N.W. of Newtown Bellew, is bounded N. by the parish of Kilkerrin, E. by Annaghmore West and Cregaun, S. by Mountsilk, W. by the townland of Moat. The road from Galway to Roscommon lies through the E. side of it. In Tiaquin Barony.
