Description:
This parish within the liberties in its greatest extend from E. to W. is 6 British miles and from N. to S. 2¼ miles nearly. It is divided into 22 townlands. The principal road leading through the parish is from Oranmore to Galway. A part of this parish is isolated and of smaller extent lying S.E. being about one square mile. The nearest market town is Galway.
Situation:
In the County of the Town of Galway. Bounded on the North by the parish of Claregalway and Lough Corrib, on E. by the Parish of Claregalway and Oranmore Parish in this County, on S. by part of Galway Bay, the parish of St. Nicholas is part of Rahoon and on W. & S. W. by Rahoon.
