Ballyglass | townland | A straggling kind of a townland with a large collection of houses near the centre and close by the West side Loughawnroa village. The townland is under cultivation. The soil good especially for tillage. |
Ballyglass Village | village | A miserable collection of houses so called[Unable to read.] close by the north side of the road leading from Portumna to Gort and Woodford and there are several large pools between the houses and the above road. |
Ballyleen | townland | A small townland all under cultivation. There is nothing remarkable in this townland only a Danish Fort close by a road the eastern boundary. |
Barnacullia | part of a townland | A portion of the townland so called, it does not consist of any matter worthy of remark. It appears to have taken its name from Wood, top of wood, it is now under cultivation. |
Barnacully | trigonometrical station | A collection of farm houses so called, Barnacully or top of the wood. Trigonometrical Station is close by the N. E. end of the village 220 feet above low water mark. |

Billoo | well | A burying ground, so called, there is a spring well in the root of a tree 1 chain E. of the burying place, most probably the burying place has derived this name from some person interred there. |
Boolynaminna | townland | A small townland. The West end is composed of bog. The east end under cultivation containing several houses and a Danish Fort in the N. East end. |
